Nudes a Poppin’, a poorly named stripper festival and competition in Indiana, is captured here on Buttman’s Nudes A Poppin’ 13. I have to tell you, I was bored after 20 minutes. This is a very complete, as in nearly unedited, look at the event through the eyes of John Stagliano and crew. It captures the various dance routines as well as footage and footage and footage (and more bonus footage) of the girls laying around poolside posing for the generally fat, shirtless males who catcall through the entire film.

The dance routines, while creative (a girl scout, a cavewoman beating a gorilla with a bone, and a catwoman who dumps milk on herself to name just a few) are OK, but it just seems like stripping is better left to dark clubs where you have more of a connection to the women. When the girls are on the TV it just looks kind of silly. A lot of the music for the routines seems to be overdubbed too so it doesn’t always match as much as it probably did in real life. And plenty of these chicks probably look A LOT better in dark clubs no matter how much Buttman ohs and ahs over their fake tits and sweaty asses. It was apparently very hot for this event – everybody’s sweating.

As noted, a lot of the footage is just the girls laying around posing. If you’ve been to the AEE it’s like that except with no clothing. There isn’t, of course, any sex at all on this DVD, just naked chicks. Most of the girls seem sort of grumpy (it’s probably a million degrees) and tend to ignore or slowly respond to John’s calls for them to roll over, stick up their ass, whatever. All the footage, with the exception of the routines, are shoot with a hand-held camcorder. It’s not too wiggly but it’s what you expect.

For the true stripper fan this is an indispensible DVD. I wouldn’t really call it porno though so don’t look here for anything that will give you a boner. This film probably could have been condensed into about 15 minutes of highlights so it’s only a must-have for somebody who really, really follows the national stripping scene. If you’re pissed at me for not telling you which girls strip and stuff, sorry, I’m just not that into it.
